Deep Dish Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza

This Deep Dish Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza has buttery brown sugar streusel crumbles and creamy maple glaze. 30 minutes from start to finish! Eat it for breakfast. It’s so thick and pillowy and bready, and the cinnamon flavors are so cozy and I swear the flavors taste the better when you are wearing sweatpants and a fleece. At least that’s true if you live in Minnesota and you own items of clothing called “fleeces”. It reminds me of a cinnamon roll in dessert pizza form, or coffee cake pizza. It begs you for a steaming mug of coffee, a big glass of milk, or a shmear of sweet cream butter.

Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings

Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings is a family favorite meal that is both comforting and delicious! This easy recipe is created from scratch including the tender dumplings and juicy chicken in an easy homemade broth. This recipe starts with a whole chicken simmered to tender perfection with veggies and seasonings. Simple dumplings made with pantry ingredients are simmered in the broth until plump and tender. This is a family favorite that will be requested again and again!

Breakfast

Lemon Ricotta Pancakes

Lemon and ricotta are a match made in heaven. You will find the pairing in many Italian desserts like cheesecakes, tarts, and torta di mandorle (lemon, ricotta, and almond cake), but with pancakes, you don’t have to wait until after dinner to enjoy this winning combination. Ricotta cheese adds a creamy richness to these pancakes without making them dense, and lemon brightens the batter. Whip the egg whites separately for an extra-fluffy stack! Perfect for a special weekend brunch, Mother's Day, or Father's Day.

Peaches and Cream French Toast

Today, I have a recipe for you. Since, as you know, breakfast is one of my favorite parts of life, I chose these (super, amazing, delicious) Peaches & Cream French Toast w/ Peach Bourbon Syrup and Vanilla Mascarpone. And if you can believe it, this dish is even better than it looks and sounds. One day, the internet will have taste-o-vision. That’ll be great. I digress. Let’s make the best darn french toast you’ll ever eat!

Breakfast

Cheesy French Toast

Try something new with your French toast. Add strawberry cream cheese and strawberry jam between 2 slices of French toast for a delicious breakfast or brunch that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Instead of strawberry jam, use your favorite jam or jelly. Serve with maple or fruit syrup, preserves or whipped cream. Instead of sandwiches, make Stuffed French Toast Pockets. Slice French bread into four 1 1/2 inch (4 cm) thick slices. Cut a slit into each slice of bread without cutting all the way through. Combine cream cheese and jam and spread mixture one-quarter of the mixture into each pocket. Continue with recipe as described above.

Frittata

For a nutritious bite in the morning, look no further. This frittata has everything you need to fuel your day: lots of protein, a good dose of veggies, and some cheese and bacon to wake that taste buds up. The best part? You don't even need to fire up the oven for this.

Breakfast

Steel Cut Oats

We love steel-cut oats, but we don't like standing over the stove stirring them all morning. Let your Instant Pot do the work for you and you will be rewarded with creamy and pleasantly chewy oats. Works great with any type of milk! It’s a perfect breakfast recipe which is healthy and delicious!

Almond Butter Stuffed French Toast

Stuffed French Toast! Let’s do this! I LOVE French toast! My mom made us French toast a lot when I was younger and the love has only gotten stronger (for the French toast and my mom). My basic tried and true French toast recipe can be found HERE if you’re interested. But today, we’re stuffing our french toast with Barney Butter Almond Butter and it’s magical! First, as always should be done with French toast, let's talk about the bread. The bread selection is VERY important! I’m a BIG fan of Challah Bread (sometimes called egg bread). I pretty much always make my French toast with challah bread. You want a bread that’s firm enough to stay intact after it has been soaked in the liquid but you also want bread that’s spongy and rather soft. Brioche and French bread are also good options.

French Toast Kabobs

The kids will enjoy helping to prepare this fun way to serve and eat French toast. Use seasonal fruit or whatever you have on hand to make these colourful and nutritious kabobs. Buy unsliced bread and slice it yourself or ask to have it thickly sliced at the bakery or grocery store. Day-old bread is best for French toast; when dipped in the egg mixture, it will hold its shape better than fresh bread. Use the bread of your choice (e.g. white, raisin, sourdough). Omit cinnamon; use chocolate milk instead of white milk. Drizzle kabobs with maple syrup, fruit syrup or chocolate sauce. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over both sides of French toast before cutting into cubes. Sprinkle kabobs with icing sugar.
