Italian Turkey Burger

Made with a 50/50 blend of zesty Italian turkey sausage and lean ground turkey, then smothered in mozzarella, asiago, and grilled peppers + onions, this Italian charmer of turkey burgers is one tasty addition to your next backyard festival. Seasoned with Marinara sauce, these plump burgers are a delicious change-of-pace entree.

Ingredients :
  • 8 Fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup Marinara sauce
  • 3 Bell peppers (green, yellow, and red)
  • 4 slices Provolone
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt
  • 4 Turkey burger patties
Directions :
  1. Heat grill or grill pan to high. Season burger patties with salt and pepper and grill until pink, 6 minutes per side for medium. Add cheese and let melt, 1 minute.
  2. Meanwhile, grill bell peppers until charred, 4 minutes. Season with salt. Once cool enough to handle, slice into strips.
  3. Assemble burger: Spread bun bottoms with marinara and top each with a patty, grilled peppers, and basil. Add top buns and serve.
