French Toast

There's no need for your french toast casserole to take an hour to bake in the oven. You can spend half that time in the Instant Pot for a fuss-free breakfast. It's perfect topped with a little powdered sugar and fruit and everything is made better with some maple syrup. This is instant pot french toast.

Ingredients :
  • Berries, for serving
  • Maple syrup, for serving
  • Powdered sugar, for serving
  • 14 oz. Brioche or challah loaf, cut into 1” cubes, preferably day old
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 1/4 cups Milk
  • 6 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Water
Directions :
  1. Grease a 7” round baking dish with cooking spray. Place the trivet inside Instant Pot and pour in water. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Add bread and gently toss to combine. Pour mixture into prepared dish and cover tightly with foil, then place inside Instant Pot.
  2. Let Instant Pot to Pressure Cook on High for 30 minutes. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for quick release. Remove baking dish from Instant Pot and let cool 10 minutes.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup and fresh berries.
