This decadent breakfast dish of crème brûlée French toast is soaked overnight and then baked. A little time consuming, but definitely worth the wait! The results are a delicious, flavorful French Toast that puffs up with a sweet sugary dessert-like crunchy crust while staying perfectly moist inside. Serve with fresh sweet strawberries macerated in Grand Marnier (or other orange-flavored liqueur).

Breakfast

French Toast Casserole

This french toast is perfect for a crowd. It's not too sweet, not too heavy, and amazing with powdered sugar or maple syrup. (Or both, we won't judge.) wonderful flavors come out in this baked French toast recipe. I was concerned about serving it hot, but I found out that after we had eaten and went back for seconds, the casserole had rested and more room temp the vanilla and cream flavors were enhanced! The second serving was better tasting. I recommend letting it “rest” from the oven about 10-15mins before serving.

Lunch

Indonesian Fried Rice

Indonesians almost eat rice in every meal. Quick and easy, nasi goreng is a great way to use some leftover cooked rice and vegetables. Oddly enough, at home fried rice is served for breakfast, but people sell it at night. Sweet, spicy and savory are the reasons why everyone likes it. In this recipe, I made Indonesian fried rice with shredded chicken and scrambled eggs, but you can change it with shrimp, meat, sausage, bacon, or sunny side up.

Breakfast

Deep Dish Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza

This Deep Dish Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza has buttery brown sugar streusel crumbles and creamy maple glaze. 30 minutes from start to finish! Eat it for breakfast. It’s so thick and pillowy and bready, and the cinnamon flavors are so cozy and I swear the flavors taste the better when you are wearing sweatpants and a fleece. At least that’s true if you live in Minnesota and you own items of clothing called “fleeces”. It reminds me of a cinnamon roll in dessert pizza form, or coffee cake pizza. It begs you for a steaming mug of coffee, a big glass of milk, or a shmear of sweet cream butter.

Parmesan Cheese Italian Meatloaf

This meatloaf takes on Italian flavor with the addition of Parmesan cheese and an Italian herb blend. Serve this flavorful meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn or green beans for a fabulous everyday meal. The meatloaf is made with a combination of lean ground beef and ground pork. Feel free to use all ground beef in the meatloaf, or use 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef and 1/2 pound of ground pork. The pork adds extra flavor and moisture to the loaf. Bulk Italian sausage may be substituted for the ground pork.
